Four Years Later ...

Today marks four years since I made an account here, on a lark. I'd never had a blog before, and used my Myspace account about as much as I use it now, meaning enough to check on favorite bands and delete spam friend requests. However, I had read an article on VH1.com that featured David Hyman, the MOGfather, discussing a social network for music junkies. I had to try it out. I'm still glad I did.
You'd think I'd have spent hours crafting a meticulous state-of-the-MOGger address, but I couldn't quite get into it. So today, I spent the afternoon on a cycling trip down to the Alamo.

That took five hours and all the endurance I could muster, so all you get is this. Sorry.
I want to say "thank you" to all of those who read and comment on my ramblings. I still do not consider myself a good writer, so I appreciate the courtesy. Also a great big thanks to those who have invited me to join them at Coachella, and who year after year tolerate my eccentricities as we watch the shows.
Here's to four more wonderful years!

4 years already? Wow, the time has gone fast. Congrats! Better putting in bike time than mog time anyday though.
All the best Dale..and your writing is pretty
damndarn good.Happy 4 years, Dale. And if you're going to celebrate with PIL, I recommend their American Bandstand performance:

Happy 4 years Dale! Hope the Alamo was worth all that energy. :)
Happy 4th Dale, I have always enjoyed your posts so your writing is tops in my book and all the music you have introduced me to. thanks for being here.
Happy 4th good mogger, looks like it was a fantastic day for a bike ride!
Happy 4th!
"tolerate"? Seriously? My life is so much fuller and richer having you in it. Coachella wouldn't have all the magic it does without you and what you bring.
I love you, my e-brother. I'm glad you joined MOG on a whim.
Lordy lord - it has been four years, hasn't it?
It continues to be a pleasure to share this small corner of the Interwebs with you....
happy four! you must be one of the oldest ones around here...
Happy fourth, Dale! I don't ever have to tolerate your posts, I make it a point to read all of them. You're one of my favorite Moggers and inspired me to keep posting my own when I first started here. I hope the move is going well for you and your family.
@August: Yup, it's hard to imagine, but four years ago, I didn't know Anna or Amber or you or anyone else on here. How much poorer my life would have been.
And yes, the bike ride was better, though my sunburnt arms and sore knees beg to differ.
@Cody: Coming from you, our resident encyclopedia, that is indeed high praise.
@Rob: If they had only played "Radio 4" at that show, that would have been the perfect clip, since it also includes "Careering". Fantastic!
@Stef: The Alamo itself was a bit underwhelming, but it was a good time discovering some of the things that exist in my new hometown.
@cpetersonart: Thanks, I'll try writing more.
@Rob: It was hot and humid, but the skies were a gorgeous shade of blue. It's San Antonio, what do you do?
@Chuck: Cheers sir!
@Amber: Let's keep this on the DL ... but I'm really happy that the Death Cab influx brought you here. I'd never have taken the Coachella plunge without you. There, I've said it!
@Mike: Yup, it really has been. Weird, huh?
@Bill: Nay, the pleasure has been all mine, good sir.
@Tara: Yeah, I think so. There used to be many of us that started on the same date, but unfortunately many have slipped into inactivity.
@Julia: Thank you. I remember well those salad days when I would scour the MOG-o-sphere for new members and be sure to welcome them in. Those were good times.
The move goes slowly. My wife and kids were saddled with the unfair burden of cleaning our home for sale, and we think it's finally ready to go on the market. We're pricing it low to sell it quickly, so we can all get reunited here.
Slowly but surely; that's the way it always goes. I hope it sells quickly and that you can at least get a small profit out of it. It's nerve-wracking, but you'll all be together soon =)
Can't be son enough ... Father's Day without the kids kinda sucked. OK, no kinda.
Aw I'm sorry, I can't even imagine. Here, let a puppy cheer you up:
I think I joined about the same time as you, those were grand old days back then. Glad to see you still around and if you post I will read!
Happy Mog-i-versary Dale!
Nice one on the biking Dale! Strange chord works on the vid are welcome too..Here's to another 4 years!
Congrats, Dale, and I'm happy things are coming together for you all!
toleration! you're choosing athletic endeavors over all this wonder? (good for you!) happy 4th always enjoy the words a music you mix up for us...you're almost ready for MOGkindergarten!!
4!? man i keep forgetting how long weve been at this!
4?!? You old man. ;d
I have 4 words for you, Dale: You are our rock.
'nough said.
@Julia: Yay puppy! That's some cuteness I can support!
@Kevin: Yup, it's been a good ride together, huh?
@Tara: And to you as well, yours must be coming soon as well.
@belle: Yeah, that last song by PiL has all sorts of alien beauty happening.
@Darla: Cheers, things are coming together, hopefully soon.
@Scot: MOGkindergarten ... I can't even imagine. Sounds loads of fun!
@Sam: Yeah, I know, crazy huh?
@Ilay: Rock?!? That's crazy talk. Now get off my lawn! ;)
4 years.... where does it go?
Happy fourth, Dale!
Those four years went all over the free space on my hard drive, from the looks of it. :)
Happy belated MOGniversary, brother! Your eccentricities are part of your undeniable charm; we wouldn't love you as much without them :) You're always in my heart and my thoughts. Here's to many happy returns, and my usual wish: a chance to meet my wonderful brother in person soon.

And there's an anniversary comment that would melt any heart. Yes, someday we will meet.
