OMG

A little something I've kept under wraps ...

Posted about 1 year ago
*Kasabian*__Empire__"Shoot The Runner"Those who have read these pages are well aware of the steps I have taken to improve my physical condition. I won't belabor the point, as to not bore you more. But I will add that I'm doing something I've only discussed with one other MOGger, but she's family, so I knew it would be cool. So, here goes ...Tomorrow, I will be running my first competitive race, a 10K here in Wichita.I'll be honest; I have had butterflies in my stomach since I signed up. I know I can handle the distance, and might even manage to complete it in one hour. But what if something happens? I don't even want my family to come, because the expectation will weigh me down for sure.As part of this, I will be doing something I almost never do. I'll be running without the trusty Gigabeat playing in my ears. I thought that, since this is my first time and all, I would wan to hear the instructions, hear the crowd, and be fully involved in the experience. That does not mean, however, that I won't have some music stored in the memory banks to motivate me. The song above will be in use, just because the title cracks me up, under the circumstances. So, your happy lil' MOGger is gonna spend a few minutes tonight burning a mix to blare on the drive to the race, to get in the mood. Suggestions?

  12. darmuzz says Hi Dale, sorry I didn't get any tracks in under the wire, but you are an inspiration! I like working out to Billy Talent - I would recommend "Nothing to Lose" or "Where Is the Line" :)

  13. Marigold says Dale. this is awesome. I hope you rock that run and finish. I am sure you will. You have made it so far and it is unconceivable that you would not finish. You know we will all be behind you and be the wind beneath your running shoes... seriously though, how about this for your mixtape... Movement from LCD Soundsystem seems to have the energy to inspire your movement for the 10k. good luck Dale!

  18. Zeroskilz says Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. I was running to Muse's Black Holes and Revelations. Map of the Problematic was always my go-to song. Recently, I've been running to BRMC - Baby 81. The track that moves my feet there... I Need Some Air. Go figure. :) Hope the run went well. Speaking of, it's time to go for mine.
