OMG

ugh

Posted about 1 year ago
I've gotten about 2 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours. I just finished the night of a thousand stupid server problems. My new job responsibilities have got me stressed out like no one's business, and I'm responding by eating my stress, along with some chocolate chip cookies. It's times like this when I wish I didn't know how to bake, it would make the temptation so much easier to shake.Oh, don't worry, I've not gained much weight yet, just got to figure out another stress buster. Why is it that I have three PC's, and MOG-o-Matic doesn't work on the one where all the music resides?I'm sorely tempted to just forget it and go to sleep, but I think I'll get on the bike for a while and then hit the sack. Here's a song from one of the countless albums I really need to give a listen. Maybe tomorrow, I don't think I have much going on until evening.Good night MOG.

  1. consumerx says Hmm. Sounds like you're in computer hell. Like the track. Is it just me or does it have a sort of Blondie vibe about it? I find that angle titillating since they're called the long blondes. Get some rest, a mac and live to fight another day at work and on MOG.

  2. I am says Dale, you made it this far ..... now step away from the cookies with your hands in the air. Deep breaths. You do a ride and get a fresh start tomorrow. For every cookie it's .... what .....4 miles?

  4. Mike the Knife says Courage and fortitude, my friend! Life is short, and it should be sweet - just not too sweet. (Pass me a cookie.)

  5. poebegone says poor Dale. work sux - boooooo. i stress-eat, too - raisins or yogurt if i'm seriously craving sweet, a whole pitcher of tea with milk if not. The Long Blondes are sounding promising from here.

  6. amber says I work long hours but when I go home, I'm away from it for the most part. I don't envy you your stress, but totally get the stress eating tendencies. ??Totally?? You have a long weekend coming up fast to be the light at the end of your tunnel. :-)

  7. SA says I've already given up to the idea of ever getting anything to work on the right computer properly. Too bad your job is stressing you out. Hope it gets better soon. Saw the Long Blondes twice. Second time was particularly horrid, so I wouldn't move it up too high on your priority list. ;)

  8. Dale says Ah, just woke up, so time to get back to y'all. consumerx, Yeah, there's a bit of a Blondie vibe going on, huh? But no macs! PC for life, yo! Chris, I ended up skipping the ride, but did some pushups and crunches. I'll hit the bike later today, and leave the cookies for the boys. Thanks for the :::Hugz::: Jill! Mike, def. needing more fortitude here. Tonight's work will be long and not fun. Bleech. Ilay, that's a good idea, I'll pick up some trail mix and skip the cookies. Here's take a listen (not a watch) to this, first single Century. Amber, that's the kicker about working from home, the job never leaves me. Especially on those weeks I'm oncall. You have __NO IDEA__ how much I'm looking forward to being unplugged for four days straight. Stef, you're not the first to tell me that the Long Blondes don't really bring it in concert. Bummer.

  9. annieander says Dale - Stress is a slippery slope. That's when I am weakest to cravings of both the salty and the sweet persuasion...I feel that when things are that bad/stressful, why can't I treat myself to ______ (insert vice here). Be strong young padwan. May the force be with you.

  13. Dale says I'm trying to be strong Annie, but it's a heavy load. I didn't get on the bike last night, but I did go run today. I felt much better when I got back. No Will, smoking would bring on a few new levels of stress, like getting released from all of my callings at church, getting reamed my Melissa, and more besides. And MOG's been working for me, except the mog-o-matic on one of three PC's. Indeed Keith, *RAWK*. It's the cure for everything.

  14. Lyrikhan says hah...yeah Dale with what i do know about you i figured smoking would be about the last thing you'd ever do perhaps a nice cup of tea would soothe your stress :)
