WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Catching up with The Cribs

Posted about 1 year ago
*I'm A Realist*(just love how they avoid mouthing the brown word in the video)The past two weeks, I've been getting my head handed to me at work, but I've had one musical ray of sunshine. I've been listening to The Cribs' latest album on repeat frequently, and it's made things slightly more bearable. These guys really know their way around a catchy chorus, without a lot of frills. It's just well-done, simple Brit-pop with some bite to the lyrics.Oh what the heck, here's another video.*Moving Pictures*And, of course, I'm a year too late to see them at Coachella. Gaaaah! I really should have gone last year, that was THE place to be. I'm going this year, and while it'll be good, the lineup's not blowing my socks off like last year.

  1. deadmandeadman says Ray of sunshine indeed. When you get your head handed to you, hand it back, tell them they need it more than you do.

  3. deadmandeadman says Business majors are disoriented by thoughtful, heartfelt "fuck-offs!" wrapped in velvet.

  4. amber says I saw The Cribs open for Death Cab/Franz Ferdinand in spring of 2007. They were surprisingly polished but with lovely rough edges, if you know what I mean. Full full FULL of energy and LOUD. I'd like to see them now, see what's changed. Thanks for the vids--I haven't heard their new stuff.

  14. Mike the Knife says Oh, brother! (As it happens, I'm a realist, too. These tracks are really firing me up for a short, daylight-savings-truncated Saturday night on the town, Dale. Thanks!)
