Late Saturday Night Under the Covers - A disco classic with new curves

Posted almost 4 years ago
Since I hardly MOG on Sunday, the cover thing gets lost on me. Not a huge loss, as I'm generally not a big fan of covers, as a whole. But while making a Valentine's mix for Melissa, I stumbled upon this delightful track, pairing the higher-than-heaven vocals of Curve's Toni Halliday with Georgia Moroder's pulsing disco anthem "I Feel Love"Ah yes, I feel it too.Bah, silly MP3 uploader isn't working right now, so you get a fansub video. The song still destroys, though.

  1. Jonh Ingham says I'm not sure "that rocks" is the term for a track so high on sequencers, but damn that's fun.

  2. Augusts1 says If I'd heard this w/o knowing who it was, I would've never guessed it was Curve. Kind of a surprising choice of a cover for them(& a highly overcovered cover at that too). I like it but it really sounds so much like the original I'm not sure why they did it(other than paying tribute to Ms. Summer). Thanks for posting it & glad I've heard it now.

  4. Zeroskilz says That is one heck of a voice. I feel like I should be more familiar with Curve but am struggling to place anything at the moment.

  5. Mike the Knife says Yeah! That stings! I first heard it a couple of years ago when a DJ pal spun it for the after-2 AM crowd at a warehouse party I was attending. People went nuts. Half of them thought it was some new recalibration of the Donna Summer version, and the rest knew it was something else entirely. But the dance floor was packed. Very unlike the Curve that I first got to know. Still, killer!

  6. Dale says I would __love__ to hear this on a dance floor, Mike. Mike, if this really is your first exposure to Curve, you're really in for a treat.
