Love Conquers All

Posted over 5 years ago
Good evening MOGgers!I was sitting here this evening, re-reading Anna's MOG about how love stinks, and I thought, "You know, I don't agree with that at all. If I didn't have the love of my wife and children, I don't know what my life would be." Then, as if by divine musical coincidence (see "Gympumpkin's post":http://mog.com/gympumpkin/blog_post/12504), the Tear Garden's song "In Search Of My Rose" popped up on my playlist. Here are some of the lyrics:I found you crying outside on the wall of Devil's Well... A hangman's knot around your foot and praying for the spell to be shattered. May I be the one to rip those shackles clean away and lead you to a place where loneliness is tackled with a kiss? A kiss that has no ropes, no strings, and no obligations. I don't owe you; be quite sure that you don't owe me.Needless to say, I feel much better now.As always, MOG Nation, please share your favorites.Anna, I know I'm oversimplifying your comments about love. Please comment anyway.

  1. SWozniak says You people in love make me wanna shampoo my crotch. Guess that movie reference. And for $400, agree with me that House is the 2006 version of Melvin Udall. Okay, I don't have $400. But agree with me anyway. Because I'm surly. And you're in love. So you win. Limey bastard. ;)

  6. Dale says Well, I do know an attractive, friendly Greek girl who's looking to move to NYC next month. How will that do for ya?

  7. QueenofHell says When I got married we had a cool civil ceremony with classical music for the arrival of all the people and an interlude type thing. When the ceremony was over we had The Ronettes' Be My Baby playing while everyone made their way out of the room. I think it went down well and I love that song.

I didn't say love stinks,I just said I get a kick of torturing the stupid cupid every once in a while :P Current favourite love song is Placebo's Post Blue and Devlin's World Outside.I don't want to post the lyrics,it will make a mess out of your post. But if you want to check them out,I'd be more than happy if you told me what you think about them :)

  13. aedjp says I was desperate to respond to this post a couple of days back and continue in gympumpkin's vein, but my link kept dropping out. I never thought I'd be telling anyone my favourite love song in public... but maybe nobody will notice if I slip it into a comment at the end of an old post... Once, it could have been "Love Song" by The Cure, but I bought that for a girl on 7" once and she then gave it to her English teacher that she was having "extra curricular" lessons from. And then it never sounded the same for me. (Maybe I should put that in a comment on Anna's post) But now it has to be (and now I'm really embarrassed) "Knocks me off my feet" from Stevie Wonder's Songs In the Key Of Life. There. I said it.
