First Musical Crush

Posted over 5 years ago
Heaven help me, back in the day, when I was 14, right after Berlin's album "Pleasure Victim" came out, I had such a thing for Terri Nunn, their vocalist. I broke at least one copy of that cassette from playing it so much. Maybe it was the lyrics that made it plain that she was, umm, easy. Maybe it was the mix of synthesizers with a touch of guitar that made my head spin. Maybe it was her high and light-as-a-feather vocals, before she discovered vocal coaches and really learned to sing. Or maybe it was the lovely hairdo, a blonde bob with black tips, mmmmm. Would have looked better in pigtails, tho.And yes, before you ask, "Take My Breath Away" killed her appeal for me almost instantaneously.Who was your first musical crush, MOG Nation?

  10. gympumpkin says I'm not sure if this counts, but I had a huge crush on Davy Jones when I was about 5. But I was watching the show, not listening to albums or whatever, so I am not sure that really counts. The first one I can think of that I know would count would be Eddie Van Halen.

  17. ebuzzmiller says you know, Terri Nunn appeared in either Plaboy or Penthouse in the late 70s, the photos are floating around...not that I've actually seen them ;-) she still looks pretty fabulous but yeah, that Top Gun song killed it for me. But she did look fab in that "No More Words" vid... I think my first musical crush was when Ginger from Gilligan's Island was in that girl group with Mrs. Howell and Maryanne and they did that song "You Need Us". Ginger just KILLED me.
