Words fail me

Posted about 3 years ago

Somewhere deep inside me is an eloquent post to celebrate this historic Inauguration Day, but it's just not coming out. So, in lieu of that, here's some big thumping tunage from Killing Joke, and a hope that our fractured nation may start healing now.

Come inside boy - they call this fun!
(Music to please the adolescent)
Taking the easy way out again
Part of the process - same old story

Follow the leader
(look at the leader)

You just condone all that you mean
Play time doesn't last forever
Shouting about it taking the bait
Walking again in the same direction

Follow the leader
(look at the leader)

Time moves on and then you notice
The ground starts to
tremble beneath your feet
Man killed man and blood was shed (yawn!)
And the gasps of relief at human nature like

Follow the leader
(look at the leader)

That is a mighty fine song!  Makes me want to get up and dance!

I also must say I appreciate very much your sentiment on this day.  It is SUCH an important day and I applaud your mention of it with music.  ^__^

Perhaps you're right, leave the eloquence to the man who's REALLY, REALLY going to need it. :)

I couldn't figure out why I was tearing up. Finally came to the conclusion that it was nothing more high-minded than relief....
