Wayne Shorter playing with his quartet live at Marciac.

Wayne has described his drummer Brian Blade as a "meganova" in interviews. I see what he means.

I've seen complaints that this band doesn't connect consistently. They're all pulling in the same direction here.

When I posted I was thinking about that whole band and how they play together rather than Danilo by himself. But he is a very versatile musician and will show up in a lot of places in the future. Kind of like how drummer Billy Higgins shows up all over the Blue Note catalog, but also with Ornette, with Dexter, and other folks you wouldn't imagine.

Funny idea to trade fours with Mog posts. Only problem is it would be difficult for an audience to know it was happening. The only folks who could notice without prompting would be those in the intersection of our two "Mogs who trust us" lists.
