This performance was meant to memorialize bassist Jaco Pastorius, who had died from injuries suffered during an altercation in September, 1987. Metheny and Moses had played many gigs with Jaco, and recorded with him on Metheny's famous first recording, "Bright Size Life".






Nice. I love Metheny's Wes Montgomery-esque combination of the grace note along with the melody when he plays the song's theme. That Metheny does it with a pick rather than thumb and finger with the right hand is freakish.
