You probably don't know Abbey Lincoln.
I'm angry on your behalf and hers. It should have been easy for you to have made her acquaintance and for her to have you as one of her supporters and partisans.
Such beauty, presence, and interpretive skill. And all that along with her talent as a composer and lyricist.
Very nice! Incredibly - I think I actually have this on a VHS somewhere (I _so_ remember this take). We used to watch Night Music religiously - great show. Great find - Thank you. Abbey has sumptuous vocals. Her style makes me think of Sarah Vaughan.
FastR has summed up my feelings up here. Abbey belongs to those jazz vocalists who infuse her fiery sensitivity in all her songs. Just a delight for the ears.
I too am p-d off that people have heard of her (leaves with sighs of indignation). Thanks for this.
