I'll be brief with this first post. My names is James and I live in Charlotte, NC. I've known about this site for quite some time and just decided to give it a run. Music is a big part of my life. It has played such a big role in my life experience that vivid past memories are triggered with almost every song I grew up listening to. My first music loves were Hip-Hop and Chicago House, however, I do have an appreciation for all types of music. Being a Hip-Hop lover, I lament the current state of mainstream rap. I see the ill effects it has on the world's perception of Black culture and the influence it has on young children. As a high school teacher, I make sure I find a way to incorporate not just good Hip-Hop music, but good music in general in hopes of exposing this generation to a whole new existence. Music is a powerful entity.
