Erika and I were driving cross country when this song hit her just right and she had to hear it over and over. We were approaching Birmingham and it always brings back those rolling Alabama hills.This was 28 June 2006, the very day that Janis went to MD Anderson because she had started to feel tired more often and her ankles started to swell pretty bad (fluid retention as her immune system started to shut down). She never left the hospital and Erika was back in Houston within two weeks. And then we were both back in OKC exactly one month later for the funeral.But we didn't know all that while we were listening to Neptune City on repeat driving over the rolling Alabama hills.
