...from the "get-here-and-we'll-do-the-rest" Dept: what can I say? some days I post more than others and on this particular day I'm feelin' that "whole album vibe right about now...so, per usual, I'm lookin' back and I'm checkin' a classic which is the Doors' self-titled debut LP...sure it has those super-hits like "Break On Through", "The Crystal Ship" and "The End" but there are a couple of other tracks I like this album for....although I don't feel like the Exterminating Angel (one of Morrison's alter egos), I am feeling each of these tracks for various and sundry reasons at the moment...thought I'd share...I'll begin with a little mantra that I always seem to forget until I hear this...

Forty years ago for this slice of sound??! Still sounding fresh. 'Take It As It Comes' is the best - always good to hear the forgotten songs.

Good to hear it again...I was always amazed by my aunt's obsession with Morrison ("I don't think he died"), yet The Best of... was the only album she ever spun. Geez.

Well it's Friday night now, I've got my own brewski in hand and I'm preparing to take a journey to the end of the night. Great album, great post.

While I still have a tough time listening to these guys (see an earlier post) everytime I do hear them they are enough to make me sit and listen through out the entire song

@Ingham: funny thing is I listen to these kinda tracks by them then the "Best Of" kinda stuff..they got a lot of great stuff that don't get the dap...

@nicki: ouch...

@wassonii: mahalo and grazie, brother...

@holyfool: ...and I hope that's a great beer you're sippin' on...

@CooP: take a listen to the stuff that didn't make the charts...I think that's what made 'em so popular...the hits was just the mainstream material...

I know, however try driving 22 hours straight while listening to the Doors during hour 13. Was in the middle of the "heart" of wisconsin............didnt think I would make it through the night. I would have killed for a little Peace Frog to take me through
