WHERE MUSIC IS WORTH MORE THAN MONEY

...my trusted already know that I'm born-again-hard about Stereolab and I've written about their Switched On Series on here before...I've found a sweet video from the first of their signature single compilations and thought I'd share it...released back in '99 this album smokes without question, son; it gives the lie to anyone who'd written Stereolab off as "JAEBy" (what I call just another electronica band)...this gaggle of grooves touches on avenues taken on Mars Audaic Quintet from a few years earlier also and points to the directions that they'd go in on EP's like Instant O in the Universe and LP's like Sound-Dust and Margerine Melodie--that's saying something, yo because each of these albums are cold-crushin' in their own right...this clip starts off with footage of an interview with Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane being interviewed on a German TV show and then segues into a proper video...check it:

...word, the whole album does...I like the "white-out" segment in the video above...it looks like something's gone wrong...but then...that's pretty tight...

Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

There are some great contributions by Stereolab. Lots of electric/electro/etc. folks owe them from the ground they covered.
