...hey MOG, just got in the office...man, what a total *ASSACHE* commuting in LA can be...there's about four hours of every weekday that I spend going to and from the day gig that are pretty much spent sitting in traffic comprised primarily of cars with only one passenger (I catch the train)...when I'm sucked into the scenario above, like right now (I'm typing this on the commuter bus)...I now realize how happy I am that I have only one more week of this shit and the feeling washes over me like I was chillaxin' in a place like the locale in the picture below...thank goodness for music...on the subway I read a book, but on the road...I rely on tunes...my weakness...

  1. Me and the Horse I Rode In On says One week left? Quitting your job or just taking some time off? I spent a week in Fiji back in '98. It looked pretty much like the picture above. I'd been travelling in Australia for 5 months and wanted to stop in Fiji and the US on my way home. The strange thing was that I ended up feeling bored on that little island a few hours from the Fiji-mainland. This upsets me. Now I finally learned how precious time is and how much I need to enjoy the moments of peace. Back then I didn't know shit.

Maarten Troost's "*The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific*":http://www.amazon.com/Sex-Lives-Cannibals-Equatorial-Pacific/dp/0767915305 and laughed my ass off, still it taugh me a lot about living in the Pacific Rim, coming from the mainland of the US (check it out if you haven't already...no, not quitting...this is just a gig I picked up for a couple weeks...

  4. The Serenity Vortex says Nice postCrashPryor, always partial to a bit of Moby. Commuting sucks. It also sucks to be an engineer on the road and your job is always hours away. Glad I don't do that anymore! Hope it gets easier for you ;)
