WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

...A Peaceful, Easy Feelin' with a Pulse....

Posted over 2 years ago
...for every action there's an equal and opposite one...the punky impulse from yesterday has subsided (for now) and in this instance, I'm checking some rootsy stuff from Steel Pulse as I finish off Zadie Smith's book White Teeth (I can' t believe I'm still awake but I've also been talking to a homebiscuit from back East for an hour or so)...I bought it months ago and just got around to it...still, like Millat Iqbal (a character in the book), I'm chillaxin' with a smoke and an attitude...all of that said, a man cannot live on words and Parliaments alone, so I'm checking some old school vibrations too... Steel Pulse, son... "*these boys were down with the Clash back in the early days*":http://mog.com/CrashPryor/blog_post/18261 ..."you left taking your only possession"... I'm all about passing shite on, so put this in your bottle: If you can't cut through the bass line or sort out the accent, in a sense, the tune's about remembering who you are when you encounter "the rustlers of life" and that, no matter what you're going through, sometimes you've got to swallow your pride and accept it all to get past the bullshit...personally I think that message is applicable for everyone (listen and you will hear whateyamtalking'bout)...check it, son...

  4. Marigold says I just got done spinning the Steel Pulse discography about a month ago. There are some tasty nugs in that stuff. They were just in Mpls a few months ago and it just did not work out for me to get to the show. Great post Crash. 4:20 only at 4:20 am or pm? what about a 4:20am or pm at 9:00am? ....I am just sayin.
