A Fear and Loathing Crash- Up: Supercat vs. Helder Rei do Kuduro..

Posted over 2 years ago
...I've opted to switch off the news for a few hours because the news coming from most of my sources is all bad ...so I'll just do what I normally do...HOOK SHIT UP WITH MUSIC (whispering now: how can there be a gas shortage when all the pumps are filled with gasoline? We're getting punked, people)...yeah, I went to sleep early last night and, thus, got up at the ungodly hour of 4AM because my eyeballs just popped open...I started reading some Hunter S. Thompson for a few laughs and realized how eerily on-the-money he was about a lot of the workings of the world (we need guys like him around now more than ever but man cannot live in a Kingdom of Fear at all times...I saw the picture above in the book I was reading and it reminded me of our whole gas situation here in the states...digressing......since this is "a site for sore ears", I turned to the tunes to lift my spirits and got inspired by Mike the Knife's panache for finding mash-ups that invoke "crackish" behavior in the listener...all of this made me wonder what a mix with tunes from these guys would sound like but alas, nobody's done one yet, so this morning, I'll try a "crash-up" with some uplifting tropical tunes...I thought I'd sprinkle MOG with some sounds from sunny places (like the spot I stopped by on the PCH down in Mexico pictured above)...the first cut comes from Super Cat's template Dancehall album Don Dada ("*my MOG review's here*":http://mog.com/CrashPryor/blog_post/36808 ) which is one of the best LPs of that genre in my music book...the other which I'll post in the comment is a hot track to check as well...dig this:

  2. kat3260 says I'm always saying "Great song" and I feel so repetitive, but great songs. I really miss Dr. Gonzo - I love his take on the world and we need another one, for sure.

  12. contrabandwidth says Strange no one ever cites China as a reason for going to war. They're probably our strongest ally and growing economically like a motherfucker. Basically I see it coming down to this. China's need for oil will be much greater than ours, thus they can set the market prices, since they win just by having like 1/4 the worlds population. Right now, OPEC and the like can put out as much as they want, making good money by limiting supplies. Most of the worlds oil seems to come from politically volatile areas (where those country's citizen's are being fucked by the corrupt people in power/in bed with the oil company's - sounds like a good recipe for unrest). So oil prices are being determined more now by speculators (who have much more to gain on the prices of oil and predictions, usually negative). I saw this cool alternate reality game online called World Without Oil, which eerily touches on what Crash said earllier "How can there be a shortage if the pumps are full?"
