...from the "nothing-new-under-the-sun" Dept: ever hear a cut that made you think of something else that had absolutely nothing to do with said artist performing the song? The Daft Punk Video for "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" totally reminded me of the cartoon series Star Blazers which pre-dated the slick anime we see now... maybe it's the drawings but I kept expecting to see Derek Wildstar's brown 'fro 'n bell-bottoms or his doe-eyed girlfriend Nova or somebody else from "*the Spaceship Yamato*":href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Blazers to show up ...good times, yo...if you see the series in a video bin, and sci-fi is in your bag, pick it up...the similarities to those characters and the one in this video brought a lot of great memories back...

This was my FAVORITE show when I was a kid. I cried when they took it off the air. And I made my mother let me call the TV station to beg them to put it back on. And I was maybe all of 7 years old when they took it off air. I was totally in love with Derek. I might still totally be in love with Derek...
Also there is a YouTube user who posted every episode, so you don't have to look in the bins!

We never got the show in Germany.... had to content ourselves with "Captain Future".. which at least had a coolish theme song....
and Daft Punk... I love this song... it's one of these emergency tunes that can pick you up when energy's low (or get you through cleaning the flat...). Cool post Chris.

I know its not the actual video for Girlfriend, but youtube has let me down. Both videos feature animation that you wouldnt expect to see with the music. However, when put together, especially the clip of Speed Racer to Daytona 500, it works beautifully.
