Bigfoot & Wildboy vs. Stereolab...???

Posted over 2 years ago
...I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember "*The World of Sid & Marty Krofft*":http://www.rhino.com/video/krofft/index.lasso which came on Saturdays, featured short episodes like Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Land of the Lost and Bigfoot and Wildboy...(who came first, the Sasquatch or the Wookie..hmmm)...I remember and when I see clips from back then, it begs the question: "what were they taking hits of when they got together to spitball ideas?" Still, it was great TV to ingest through close-range cathode rays with a bowl of Honeycomb...I found this YouTube vid that combines footage from the latter with tunes from one of my favorite Stereolab LPs, Emperor Tomato Ketchup by D.Sticker...it totally works...funny shite....

  3. Iren says So my sister calls me last week... there is all this noise in the back ground, and she asks.... what was that show with the creatures with green masks and flat black eyes... was it Dr. Who?... I have no clue what she is talking about and then she says.... and there were these things that they couldn't walk into or past or something, and then it clicked.....Sleestak... land of the lost.... Yep that was it, she promptly hangs up, only to call back later and explain they were at the bar playing trivia or something..

  4. poebegone says “what were they taking hits of when they got together to spitball ideas?” - practically the only valid query of pretty much any creative endeavor earlier than the '80s. as per Iren's anecdote: how are today's youth, i wonder - rhetorically, digging the new Dr. Who (Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor)?
