...from the "And-we-liked-it" Dept: ahhh...that old school hip hop's the shizzle-dizzle...I'll admit, it's sometimes difficult to get with a grip of the acts I see/ hear these days but that hasn't stopped me from looking back, yo...I'll begin with The Black Sheep's "The Choice is Yours":Jungle Brothers --"Straight Out the Jungle"Poor Righteous Teachers --"Rock the Funky Joint"...oh yeah, you can check "*Part 3 here*":http://mog.com/CrashPryor/blog_post/34803 which links back to Part 2...also, I found some footage from that NYC TV show Graffiti Rock which I used to check on the weekends...peep the *New York City Breakers* rockin' wild, son:

CrashPryor says that's pretty fuggin' sweet Cody, they've got "best of" DVDs out there as the show was cancelled because "hip hop was a fad that wasn't going to catch on"...man, I know somewhere there's a guy going "I coulda been somebody...I coulda been a contenda!"...I'll check that link out PDQ...

  7. SamTheButcher says I love PRT. What ever happened to those guys? (Of course, Wikipedia has the answer) That whole album rocks. I've always liked his flow. I need to hear some of their other albums. I think my favorite track is "Holy Intellect", but it's all good. And how 'bout those outfits those NYC Breakers are sportin'? :)

God, these videos/songs take me back. “We Don’t punch girls/ and we don’t punch a clock.” Classic! “Engine, engine #9/on the NY transit line/if my train goes off the track/ pick it up, pick it up, pick it up.” One of my favorite sons on What it Is! is Wilson Pickett’s “Engine Number 9.” “Rock the Funky Joint,” oh my God!!
