...Joxley's "I used to love this song" post reminded me of the time I came across Sweet's "*Desolation Boulevard LP*":http://www.thestore24.com/Music/Album.aspx?p_id=P+++++5574&a_id=R++++19498&search=desolation%20boulevard&sec=all%20music&prodid=CAP48452.2&si=rhino years ago while drinking brew for breakfast over at a friend's house- it was the day after a wild-ass mid term party, we'd tapped the last keg so we were forced to pool our resources and stagger out the door on a "b, double e, double r, u, n"...funny how a single cut, from a band you don't even listen to on the regs can capture the essence of a moment in time, ain't it?

That is part of your life's soundtrack,
i believe you remember that particular
moment INCLUDING the music, if the
event was a landmark somehow in your
life only listening to the music can
revive lots of things indeed.
Thanks you remind me i loved The Sweet
years ago, Teenage Rampage was the
great song for months in my head.
Cool video

Haha... in my teens I used to go to a New Wave/Punk night at a place called The Hard Rock Club in Mannheim.. Germany that is... and for some reason, each week, the DJ would play either Ballroom Blitz OR The Who's "Pinball Wizard". I got kinda tired of the latter, but I still love Ballroom Blitz, especially when driving. Cool song to tap along to on the steering wheel... and always gets the people in the car next to me at traffic lights to laugh...

Sweet is awesome. :) I remember as a young lad in SoCal hearing "Love is Like Oxygen". In my formative years, I had a nextdoor neighbor introduce me to the madness of "Ballroom Blitz". When I got to college radio, I found that they also were the band behind such awesome cuts as "Little Willy", "Wig Wam Bam" and "Fox on the Run", songs I also remember hearing in my little-boy youth, but didn't know who the band was.
I'm not familiar with the "beerrun" track, but have come to love others like "Teenage Rampage" noted above and "Blockbuster"...they rocked.
Thanks for the vid. I don't think I've ever seen the guy behind that fey "oh-kay..." before. :)

no "beer run" track per se, StB...but that tune, "Ballroom Blitz" always reminds me of that particular beer run...b/c he had that album in his crate for whatever reason...
