A Chief in a Tribe of Maniacs

...A reply I made to a comment left in the "*Warm Inventions Post*":http://mog.com/CrashPryor/blog_post/36048 that I threw up earlier today reminded me of an earlier piece I'd posted somewhere else about 10,000 Maniacs that begins like this- "Many moons ago my first girlfriend in college turned me on to Natalie Merchant's group 10,000 Maniacs while we were kicking it in her loft and I dug them instantly. I'm all shot of that girl but the music still remains"... "*here's the rest*":http://chronicridicule.blogspot.com/2005/08/10000-maniacs-in-my-tribe.html

  3. mutterimieli says I remember when this album came out, I fell in love with the 10,000 Maniacs. My friends were telling me that I was as crazy as their name for loving them and that they wouldn't last. Hah! I still love them, along with Natalie Merchant's solo stuff.

  5. Dale says Man, that album (In My Tribe) was all over college in 87-88, so much so that I consciously avoided it. I later learned the error of my ways. "Like The Weather" was the song for me, mostly because it wasn't so hectoring. Bah, I dislike getting preached to, even in musical form.

  6. Rawkkiddoh says Ah, what a crush I had on her. When I was in 10th grade, they did a free Earth Day concert in Minnesota. I was a volunteer, and got to drive and pick up the talent. I was sent to pick up someone, wasnt told who, and bam there she was. I went to open the back door to the van, she said she wanted to sit in the front with me. Talked the whole ride, and I still wish I would have said P.S. I love you.
