...it's all rainy and cold out here today..very un-L.A...since I've got a little writing to do anyway, I've slapped on Keren Ann's Nolita LP and everything's in it's right place...I got turned on to Keren's outfit back when I used to scribe for this eZine called AtomicLife...I think it was back in late 2003 or early 2004 when her people shot me a copy of this particular album which was then forthcoming...The set remains one of my favorite kicking-back-while-it-rains joints and I highly recommend a listen...cuts to skip to include "Que n Ai-Je", "Greatest You Can Find","Chelsea Burns", "La Forme et le Fond" and "Midi Dans le Salon de la Duchesse" (check the video below)...sure she's a trifle saturnine at times, she grew on me nonetheless and she'll grow on you too a couple of songs in...then again, I like my women like I like my coffee: murky and bitter...
