...I was looking for a video for 808 State's "Moses" and I stumbled on this jam from an EP that dropped back in the 90s instead...the euro mix of a pretty phat track that's right in the pocket when you're editing bits 'n bytes...keep your hands away from the stylus, you tosser...just listen...it's a jam...

These guys slayed me back in the day. "Pacific" was a watershed mix-and-match electro-techno-dance track on my playlist every week for a couple of years.

Crash, Thanks for making Funk the 4 letter word it deserves to be.
But more importantly thanks for being more human, and making us see
the writer in you, that we all want to be.
Say it loud and say it proud.
Goodbye Chris.

To whomever reads this that has been touched by the mind and ears of Chris:
Blessed be.
Aeternity waits for none, and I think Chris knew that. Without knowing the circumstances, all I know is there will be no further transmissions from the beautifully mad talent of Crash.
While it's still available, I highly recommend checking out his Chronicle of Ridicule as well as going back through the MOG posts.
To his mom, family, and girlfriend, please know that Chris touched many lives and even though my meeting with this remarkable man was only through electronic media, I feel a huge sense of loss. May there be peace in your hearts knowing he was read by many many people and greatly appreciated and this is a loss felt by those many, though not as deeply as those closest to him. Our hearts and prayers go out to you.
Fellow Moggers, reading and listening, if you haven't done so, please take a moment of silence and reflection as a good man and great writer has been silenced.
Blessed be, CP.

Looks like I was the first to comment on your last post, Chris. But that was when you were still with us. This thread is as good a place as any to thank you one last time for your friendship and insights, generosity of heart, turn of a phrase, and sense of humor. Now, I've gotta plow forward, but I know you've got my back. Farewell, man.

I cannot believe such a beautiful soul like you has departed from this earth, but I know in the spirit world you are going to be fulfilled. Your presence will be missed. I am really shocked by your passing whenever I check my account I see your smiling picture on the side as one of my fellow Moggers.
Remember our laughs on Heavy D and Go Go music. Though our time here online was brief you made me happy and I will cherish the short time we had together online.
May you be at rest and know you were cherished here online and offline.
Hugs always,
2Serenity aka Jennifer

Crash possessed a passion and understanding for music that few of us will ever enjoy. Though I only "spoke" with him via e-mail, he always took the time to check out my posts and make encouraging or instructional comments. He was very giving with his time. He seemed to be a very classy guy - the type of person we need more of in this foundering world.
Oh, and MAN was he prolific.
Each of Crash's individual postings served to benefit all of us. His knowledge of music often placed him the role of Headmaster. Crash's extensive knowledge base, a testament to his tireless passion for both creating and studying the art form. His written legacy will serve as a priceless and ample instruction on how to enjoy and study music at an optimum level. I once read a quote ... "Bright Souls Burn But Briefly," and so it was with our friend, Crash.
God Bless You, Crash.
Rest Well.

Out of respect of what you had started here on mog.com I could not delete myself entirely so I returned. I know your spirit is at rest but I have never been so much into music after meeting wonderful people like yourself here mog.com. Although we did not interact that much, I feel your spirit within all of us to preserve history, emotions and events. Thank you for allowing that spirit to be in all of us.
My god brother is there with you now in heaven. Hope you 2 connect - he passed on February 2, 2008 at the age of 18. His name is David. Great kid and from the Washington, DC area too!
