Hell, that's Bob Wayne. He mostly just twiddles 'round with Hank III 's guitar, but don't let him fool ya, he makes music all his own. We saw him open for IIIrd and he had the spirit of a real outlaw, wild west type, ya know?. If we didn't put the big pot in the little pot and boil the dishrag! Kind of made me think just because I have a crack in my butt it doesn't make me crippled...if Bob and the carnies can get it done, why can't we? That ain't half bad......guess Mr.Bragg is more than WIlco's buddy.
Much more - that was just a side-project.
His version of the old union song Which Side Are You On, reworked to meet recent British conditions is at least as biting as the original, and Waiting for the Great Leap Forward has a few things to say about political musicians and a few other things.
I think my favourite version of (Get Your Kicks on) Route 66 would have to be the one i'm sure i remember - a Christmas party at Ramparts Medical Center on the old Emergency! program, with Dr Joe Early playing it on the piano.
If you don't remember, Joe Early was played by a fellow named Bobby Troupe. (Or however he spelt it.) And of course, his wife played the Head Nurse...
