MOG Wars 3 Is Over ........

The winner is Groon. Cody B. couldn't take the pressure. Groon (aka Chuck) has gone through his list of hits in expert fashion.

So it is with great pleasure I award the MOG Wars Trophy to Groon.

(The trophy looks just like the rubber skull depicted in the picture above. I will be sending it in the mail, very soon.)

I would also like to thank everyone for being such good sports and sticking with me. My only wish was to have fun and make friends through music. You guys are the best and I mean that sincerely.

I think Control will remain online, you never know when another MOG War may be called up. Feel free to remove me as a trusted or don't that's your call.

. . . that there's a chance this thing may end in a tie. So, here's the deal: in the unlikely event that there is a tie here, what I'd like everyone to do is to come up with and submit one music question (general knowledge, nothing too crazy here) to Control's Mogmail. Make sure you send the question and the answer, and send it to me as a Mogmail, NOT as a comment! (Don't want these guys getting the questions in advance or anything).

So, go ahead and think of a good question and send it. I figure 24 hours ought to be enough time, don't you? We should know something by then, unless the post office is getting even worse these days.

2 Found Dead, Mysterious Circumstances ....

Unofficial reports have been coming in about the deaths of 2 men, which right now, appear to be related. The deaths have occurred on either side of the Atlantic Ocean and at the, or very close to the same time. Speculation of foul play abounds.

The first man that was found dead was SA of the Netherlands.

After the preliminary investigation, police there are confident it was a bomb planted within a sewer pipe (Aha! A clue.) that was directly in front of his home. Witnesses at the scene described a large Norse (very viking like) looking man acting suspiciously. We are running through our international database trying to cross match the modus operandi and a physical description. So far all roads lead to this man.

The second man a one ZZTodd was found dead at his home in Texas. Initial reports say he was found to have forgotten how to breath. Some say it was suicide, some say, "That's just how he is". In any case he was a good agent, unfortunately he had no working concept of the US Post Office.

Here at headquarters we are deeply troubled by the deaths of these 2 fine agents.

SA was survived by his headphones and ZZTodd was survived by his guitar. Both the headphones and guitar have requested in lieu of flowers that you send a monetary donation to the "Get Chris Heilman Some New Tires Fund" or the "Society To Help Chris Get A New Life Fund". Both charities accept checks or very large money orders.

SA and ZZTodd, you will be missed. May God have mercy on your souls.

This leaves 2 on 2 for Mog Wars.

Okay I have done some more admin on the page. Everyone 'death' posts (except Mully's and scotfree) have been linked in the Obits section. Names have been moved from the living to the dead.

I think all of the agents have their assignments so we should be seeing more death in the coming days.

Okay, It Seems Everybody Is Confused ...

When I first randomized (put numbers to names) I had envisioned making pairs such as;

1 hits 2 and vice versa

3 hits 4 and vice versa

This would be easy and move everyone into brackets. After a discussion with The Red Right Hand we decided to stack everyone (in a random way with one tweek to accommodate an oversea shipping preference). This is the way it played out:

1 hits 2, 2 hits 3, 3 hits 4 ..... 22 hits 1.

as deaths occur the stack get shorter.

5 if 2,4 ,6 die. Your hit is the next in the stack.

It became a circle.

There is obvious problems with this, so I am doing the best with what I got.

One is an advantage for oversea hits. Our domestics fell pretty quickly while not one overseas op. has been killed. I really didn't foresee this and if you have a problem voice it Mogmail to me.

I have seen some confusion in the way I am counting deaths.

My feeling is a dead person can't make a hit. I am doing this for expedience, not because I am stupid or because I have an agenda. Determining death is important for everyone concerned. It gives the game a means to go forward and we should have a clear winner this way.

If you are still alive and your target gets your cd before you get whacked, your target is dead, they are done.

If your target gets a cd after someone whacks you, your target is spared and they get to move on to the next person on the list.

Everyone gets at least one cd and the people still alive get to chew through the list. The advantage to counting deaths this way is people who don't send a cd in a timely fashion get eliminated and those who want to play get to keep going until a winner is determined.

I don't know how to explain it better.

One more thing, if you are to find fault with how I am handling this, that's fine, I am sorry you feel this way. I had posted here and on my page about suggestions and ideas. Some of you offered good ones and some offered jokes. This is the first time I am doing something like this (administration), so all I got is a template and an idea, how it plays out is on you the participant. If you don't want to continue killing people let me know in mogmail and I will send you to the obits. post haste. If you feel cheated, I am sorry, this was not my intention and I hope we can still be friends, because the last thing I want, is have folks upset with me because of hurt feelings.

That's it Control out. Let the shitstorm of complaints begin.

BTW Groon got his hit after Dzend admitted he was dead. Groon is still alive.

I updated the obits.

If you recieved a hit from a live agent, you are dead. If you sent a cd to someone and recieved a hit before that cd makes contact with your victim, the victim is spared and moves on to the next availible victim. I hope this is clear. I am relying on your honestly to make the game progress.

Suddenly all of had some value, did you feel it?

I have 2 ways I could go about this.

One would be the tried and true method Dale laid down. Pairing. No muss no fuss. Anna and I am onboard for this way.

The other would be assign your victim by the number after you. I have a list and I can call assignments by numerical values. Personally, I like this idea. I will adjust for those who don't want to do someone international and it will be a holy free for all. I think a 'last person standing' may come sooner from this way.

In the interest of disclosure. My name is Chris Heilman and I am running a game called MOG Wars. The sole purpose of the War is to trade cd's and talk trash with a few friends. We represent no malice. Think of this as a free association experiment with help from friends. Check the links to see we are well documented.

Oh yeah, one other thing. Since we have 23 participants we have an odd number for pairing. We don't have a problem chaining you numerically. Your hit would be the next person on the list.

Should we go with pairing I will assign 2 double agents who will automatically get the next available assignment. I can accomplish this by being the first victim.

My themes are;

1. I want to die listening to music with my family.

2. I want it to be happy music.

Either way, I am ready to roll. I am formatting dossiers as we speak. The themes you guys chose are awesome. Good luck and have fun.
