MOG Wars 3 Is Over ........

Posted over 3 years ago

The winner is Groon. Cody B. couldn't take the pressure. Groon (aka Chuck) has gone through his list of hits in expert fashion.

So it is with great pleasure I award the MOG Wars Trophy to Groon.

(The trophy looks just like the rubber skull depicted in the picture above. I will be sending it in the mail, very soon.)

Thoughts, feelings, complaints or praise can be entered into comments below.

I would also like to thank everyone for being such good sports and sticking with me. My only wish was to have fun and make friends through music. You guys are the best and I mean that sincerely.

I think Control will remain online, you never know when another MOG War may be called up. Feel free to remove me as a trusted or don't that's your call.

This track comes by way of our buddy Ray (aka RGM).

Feel wierd being the winner, since this was my first time participating.  Can't compare to the games before, but I had a blast doing it this way!

Guess I should make some sort of win post, eh?

Careful Chuck, first time I was in the final three or so, and have steadily backslid over the last three times we've played. Now I'm at the bottom of the pile of bones. In fact, when you're done with the skull, I'd like it back.

So can we have Groon sign the skull (or maybe drink some blood out of it) with a sharpie?  Then as the wars continue, it really can be a trophy.  I just think it will become so much more than a rubber skull.

And maybe get Hyman to burn the Mog logo into the forehead for good measure.

I think a free trip to Berkley with the skull is in order, compliments of Mog.  To be culminated by a presentation of the Mog Wars trophy by David to Groon.

What is the official name of the trophy?  I suggest Frederick Arthur Stanley, or maybe just Stan.

I agree with C'bandwidth, the passaround trophy would be the way to go.

Not to be a sayer of nay, but the round-robin format strikes me as less functional than a series of one-on-one hits.  I myself still maintain wrongful death.  But it was fun anyway!

    Well done, warriors!

    EVERYONE---

LET'S ALSO GIVE A BIG ROUND OF HAPPY TO CONTROL FOR PUTTING THE MOG WARS TOGETHER!

    Good job Chris and Anna!

I had originally had a guitar in mind for a trophy and I was thinking along the lines of a pass around object. Anna brought me to my senses and said, "I don't think people would want to pay to ship that thing to someone else." "So I nixed the guitar and the skull sitting on my book shelf said "Hey man, I'm availible."

Tyler, that was my intention. Skull is way more portable then the guitar. And I was going to ask him to sign it. Man, it's scary how we think alike.

Mully, I think we can tweek the format a bit next time. It sure wasn't perfect.

I think a 'naming of the skull' post is in order. Or should we let Groon name it since he's the first?

In all reality, you might just want to stick a tag and proper postage on the skull and mail it as is, no package.  Then it's gets the date stamped on it and all sorts of character from going thru the system.  Sort of a momento mori, or perhaps momentum mori.

Good job BTW Chris.  It was a blast!

Great game, format, and management. Thanks for the work Chris and Anna, you made it happen! But Groon! Here's to ripping that skull from you soon, and don't be defacing it with Nordic regalia!
