Apologize Without Timbaland, As It Should Be...

Posted about 1 year ago
Timbaland takes more credit than he deserves. The title "Apologize ft. OneRepublic" just makes me angry. "Featuring" OneRepublic???????? THE BAND MADE THE SONG. Seriously, if anything it should be "OneRepublic ft. Timbaland." All he did was add a drum machine and some "Eh-Eh!'s."I hate you Timbaland. Self-inflated jerk. And I hope everyone else does too, eventually. On a more positive note, I love Sunday mornings. I especially enjoy the time between 7:30 and 8:30 AM, as it is so peaceful and quiet on campus. All the drunk party-goers are fast asleep. As I walk outside, I could almost be tricked into thinking thousands of students do not surround me in this place, asleep or no. I am the only one on the sidewalk. The slightest of breezes ruffles what little remains of the leaves on tree branches. I can hear some straggling birds sing and call somewhere above my head. They will probably be gone in a week. As I walk, I take deep breaths of the sharply brisk morning air. The morning is refreshing, almost exhilarating; you can feel more alert and alive than at any other time of day.My university put on a free concert in a giant field three months ago on August 17th. How can I pass up a free concert? I saw OneRepublic live there. I had no idea who they were, then. Despite not knowing a single song, I enjoyed them immensely. Also, they have a cellist in the band, which is always a plus for me - being one who enjoys the mixing of classical with modern rock. Now they are topping the charts. The sad thing is, people, the original version of "Apologize" is so much better (live and on recording) than Timbaland's remix.See for yourself.

  1. deadmandeadman says A very nice post. Your ability to set a mood is to be admired. I too enjoy the early hours, the peace, the quiet contemplative aura of bein' the only sentient creature astir is a delight. The music? Not so much, but hey, different strokes, no?

  2. Conspire2ignite says Hah, this is probably the most mainstream post, musically, I will ever make. I was highly skeptical of this song when I first heard it, because the first version I heard was Timbaland's. Timbaland sort of removes everyone in the band except for the lead singer and replaced them with himself. What an ass, eh?

  3. deadmandeadman says Mainstream? Here in the MOG? That's one very wide stream. From Gong to Gesualdo, from Tritt to the ArKestRa, from Tupac to Dion, its all a stream. Merrily merrily merrily life is but a stream

  4. Conspire2ignite says you twist my words, hahaha. but after making that comment, I did realize one thing: mainstream in one country is different from mainstream in another, so perhaps this post is only as mainstream as the location of its reader?

  5. deadmandeadman says You say: "mainstream in one country is different from mainstream in another, so perhaps this post is only as mainstream as the location of its reader?" In a way the mainstream shifts from state to state, city to city, etc etc. I guess its a million little streams that twine like a muscle.

  7. milkshake says Thanks for this. Wondered what the original sounded like - though I figured it'd be like the remix without the R&B beat - which has started to great on me - and Timbaland's singing/"heys"/whatever they are.

  8. milkshake says Damn that synthesised beat is still there - wish they could have stuck in some drums instead.

  9. Conspire2ignite says It is not synthesized. The drummer plays that beat on his drumset live.

  10. Fingerprints Inside says Wow, that was the first time I ever heard the Original. And it was defiantly way better. I like how it is more instrumental. And it is true what you said. It should be ft Timbaland. If I was One Republic, I wouldn't be happy that he got the credit for my song.

  11. EmSixTeen says 9:33:18p (+Aaron) i knew i fucking knew that 'timbaland' track apologize when i heard it 9:33:24p (+Aaron) it's not featuring One Republic 9:33:27p (+Aaron) it's their fucking song Didn't even realise/remember until I saw this post, rather randomly. Don't get me wrong, Timbaland is a bloody great producer, I have a real fondness for the singles he's thrown out for and with people.. But the original of this track kicks ass. One Republic have a nice remix of The Way I Are, by the way. If I figure out this site, I might put it up or whatever it is you do. :)
