cast iron songs + torch ballads..

Posted about 5 years ago
*Planet Waves* has become my favorite of Dylan's works and it's totally found a special place in my heart. I bought this album on vinyl off a whim one day. I liked the art and I like that it was with the Band. Never had heard it. I listened once and again...and was hooked. His voice is soothing and it's the most peaceful thing to me. It has such a great mood and tone. My favorite song is *Never Say Goodbye* and every time I heard those first few seconds, I'm just happy. It immeadiately calms me. I'm not really writing this to prove anything or to have some great Dylan debate. Just thought maybe someone else maybe hasn't heard it yet and should treat themselves. Or maybe its not your thing. Either way, I love this song. And the album. And I'm just gonna keep writing about songs I love. So there.

  1. david hyman says i go through so many phases with dylan. was on planet waves, now back on blood on the tracks, cause i just got the remastered vinyl. i never really dug this album until 2 nights ago and i'm convinced it's the warm vinyl over the harsh digital. have you heard, "world gone wrong" - dylan's beautiful acoustic album?

  2. Kid Charming says When I was in high school, a friend of mine had an unlabeled cassette with only side 2 of the album. I taped it off him the first time he played it, and I played it for years without knowing what it was from. It was my favorite Dylan before I even knew what it was. "Because my dreams are made of iron and steel With a big bouquet of roses hanging down From the heavens to the ground" One of the Best Verses Ever.
