I've been on a Florida Funk kick lately (see
here and
here )Not for any good reason, it just happened that way. The Mighty Ryders, Help Us spread the Message is a classic rare funk LP first dug out of the crates and reissued by San Fran's Luv N'Haight label in '94. It has been on my playlist ever since. Evil Vibrations is
THE CUT, but the rest of the album ain't too shabby. The original art is priceless, in a '77 kinda way. The re-issue also reprints the original liner notes, which say it better than I ever could,"The Mighty Ryeders talent brings a new beginning to the world of music, their style adds a stroke of genius to a developing wave that will sweep the country of music lovers for generations to come. This power-pac (sic?) sounding album will stimulate their listeners to the point of playing these tunes again, again, and again..."
I couldn't agree more! There really must be something in the water down Okefenokee way. Peace.

Digging the funk right now with a post-hole digger. I'm from Florida originally.

That song could only have been recorded in 1977 (or maybe '78). Nice one, Cody.
