MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

There was an NPR call in on this topic and I got all confused. I was glad to hear that they would be talking about another great re-issue from Egon at NowAgain, but I didn't see how they could fill an entire hour of talk radio on the subject of this tight as a drum Indianapolis funk outfit. On the other hand, it is a dope record, sporting an early Ohio Players/Funkadelic vibe, monster congas, fat drums, fuzzy guitars,a little political edge, and funk to burn. I haven't broken the record down to the molecular level, but "Love Fades" caught my ear first. As to the talk show, I guess they were talking about a different kind of amnesty relating to some immigration issue. However that talk went, I'd rather spend an hour with this record, than listen to nationalistic idiots whose sense of history goes back about 20 years. Don't they remember: Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to FUNK. Isn't that what it says out on the lady in my harbor. Well on Friday it Does!

this is a great head-nodder for that time of the night when the dancefloor is still empty & the dj likes to please dudes sitting around & drinking. the bass is so fat I get the instant impression it’s a dancefloor killer, but its not... it’s a warmer. the record cover is dope too.

I didn't get that right, the thing with the two Amnesties, maybe a deficiency of cultural background knowlege or deficiency of everyday English. The only other Amnesty I know is Amnesty International :). Anyhow, this track is great. Thanks for the post. I'll have a closer look at this album.

Hermes..There is a debate going on in the US about immigration and amnesty for undocumented immigrants is a big topic. A bad joke by me on that..but glad you like the track

O.k., I just didn't understand the joke ;). I know the debate anyway. My mexican family also had a daughter that was married to an illigal Mexican in California, so I know the problem a little bit - I just saw it from the other side of the border. Strange story, just don't have time to tell it right now.
