MOG MOG

MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Album: The Rough Guide to African Music for Children
(65)

I bought this CD for my son because I noticed a few familiar and favored names. The CD made a bigger impression on me though, although my boy did groove on it for a week or so. His taste is a bit more mercurial than mine. Any way the whole disc works for any age and covers a wide array of African styles but I really dug this track. The CD was compiled by children aged 5 to 14 across England who were asked to vote on a selection of tunes provided by the producers. They did an excellent job of selecting.

This vid from youtube may have been a little too Gangsta for the kid's disc, but its pretty cool too.

All I'm hearing from X Plastaz defintely warrants further investigation

Man, I thought it would get more love out in MOG world, but as usual with all things MOG, I am terrible at predicting response. Thanks Crash,Pseudo for saving me from infamy.

LOL No worries. And, hey, it happens. If anything, I think it's just a slow HHT this week. Hell, I'm just barely checking in!

Those kids sure like dancehall, man. I liked the video too. Who knows what these artists could be able to do with a proper producer, equipment, fresh instrumentals and so.

Thats true rocket, they're copping a little Yellowman on there. A zung here a zeng there. Rawk, you are down with the kids. You should go over to Tanzania on sabbatical and get these kids some proper tracks.
