  1. ivylander says Cody, the technical gremlins are on the loose. I can't get the audio to play and the video stopped loading after about 30 seconds. Is the problem at my end or are others also finding things difficult? Frustrating because I quite like both Lou Rawls and David Axelrod....

  2. Cody B says @ivy-MOG pages..for everybody I think have been slow, slow, slow all day. My page half loads and just sticks...for most of today. It was hellish to get this post up. But as of 651 eastern things seem a bit better. I can even comment. Perhaps another big expansion has occurred..Anyway sometimes if you refresh the tracks and video will load better.

  7. ivylander says Now working. To be honest, I didn't see how Lou Rawls could make Donovan lyrics convincing, but by cracky, he does it. I am amazed and deeply impressed....

  11. soulrocket says i had some problems with mog earlier too, but now it seems to work just fine. the low rawls version of donovan is so impressive, i didnt expect it to be so good. i loved both axels clip & song too... man, he has some character! the kind of people that make up being shy by over-reacting a bit... heh.

  12. Lady Miss Ian says Yeah, when I think Lou Rawls I don't think "Hey, I'd really love to hear him do a Donovan cover", but Lou puts it down. I'm impressed. BTW I would love that album cover as wallpaper - for my walls, not computer. It's like, Mod and Groovy.

  13. Cody B says In my "lounge" DJ days this song was always a favorite. I'll do just about anything to get a David Axelrod song in the mix. I'd heard about his record for years, but whenever I saw them (Say at Bleeker Bobs in NYC) they were $100. I had to wait for the CD's. The label, Stateside, that does the Lou Rawls Collection also has two volumes of Axelrod compiled. They are imports, but they have his solo material, some Cannonball Adderly, and some Electric Prunes stuff. Pretty comprehensive.
