Sample This 5

Posted over 2 years ago
I know that you know what the track below was sampled into. But, can you name the track that was sampled, the artist, and the producer of the original? If you are not sure crying Uncle is recommended. 5 points for each correct response.Another track from the same artist and producer is in comments.

  2. I am says "Ilya Kuryakin" and David Axelrod. The track is The Edge. Toooooo ez my friend.
I love The Man From U.N.C.L.E. I got this record to compliment my "Two Sides Of Leonard Nimoy". Ya know, McCallum records(can't remember the last time I listened to it) were more cocktail and lounge as oppose to Axelrods more psych stuff with The Electric Prunes. Good stuff Cody. Happy 4th. Did ya get to the water front to watch fireworks tonite?

  4. Cody B says Chris, you get all the points. I did post on that "'Prunes' record":http://mog.com/Cody_B/blog_post/64367 back in the day (April). We brought chairs to sit and watch the fireworks on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, but then it started to rain so we left..which turned out to be great 'cause they started while we were driving home under the promenade on the BQE. We just parked the car on the freeway and watched (like many of our fellow New Yorkers, and much to the dismay of some police). This is the second time I've watched 'em from there and it is great.

  5. I am says That's a great ride. I'm jealous. One year I set off a boat flare from a friends house. 2 seconds later alot of boats on the river set off theirs. It was like they where waiting for an excuse. You haven't lived until you have seen fireworks over NYC. U threw us bone on that one. Wait .... I was lighting a smoke and listening to your Prune's tune and I forgot what I was going to write. Oh yeah. "Down with the Establishment!"

I just processed my pics. There will be more. Much to your chagrin for sure. Peace man.

  16. Cody B says @Boy Flood- No rush..take your time..I don't have a job, I am in no hurry. I wonder how long that will last for me.

  17. Lady Miss Ian says Look, I'm even farther behind on commenting than Boy Flood is! How did I miss this one, Cody? I love playing sample this, even if I do suck at it. But that cover brought back memories. I could have owned dozens of copies of that sucker in the 80s. Every Thrift Store I used to hit had one in their stacks of old LPs -- next to all the Rod McKuen albums! Groovy dude. Thanks for the post.
