HHT:Could You Flow 2 This Prog Loop?

Track:Aisle Of Plenty Loop
Coming into this week, I had zero Genesis music. I know about the history and some key albums and tunes..but did I need to actually have them in my collection? A blog post elsewhwere convinced me I did and so in typical obsessive fashion I started gobbling up the records. I decided on a chronological approach and I dl'd their first 5 records.
This morning I added the albums to itunes, so that when I looked at my browser the first line of my itunes showed the last track on Genesis' fifth studio album...I clicked play, Aisle of Plenty came on, and my Genesis exploration ended because I really dug this intro..funky (certainly for Prog) and with a cool wash of backround vocals behind it, I deferred my Genesis education in favor of the sound editor.
In my first Could You Flow Post (link above), I asked for and received some excellent loops y'all made from samples..It's been 3 months, have you found anything you looped since then?
Ok, back to my Genesis listening party..yeah, I know, I've got problems.

Cody, I'll come back tonite...but I'm not getting notfys and this comment will keep me from forgettin' ya...
definitely flowable!
I'll flow to it - and throw the rest of the tracks on top of it if you send me the loop... even put something high energy in to cover the dip that you have at the loop point... or see if I can give you an even doper bit accurate loop point...
Drop a line in Mogmail for the official email address if you're looking for a partner in crime on the experiment...
Van
That sounds like a deal Mr. Van. I'd love to hear your what you do to it..
I was thinking the same thing van ... your probably a better beatsmith than I ...
whatever you come up with ... post it for sure.
Nice find Cody.
soundlike something someone should flow to........where is troy? He did a great job on that oasis cover, this should be easy
Cody, first let me say how much I hope you like the Genesis you hear. Those first five albums are IMO absolute gold . . . well, at least 2-5. Their first album sounds nothing like any of the others, and is not really proggy at all. It's really more in the vein of pre-disco Bee Gees. It has some good moments, though. Considering they were all around 16 or 17 when they wrote it, it's a pretty impressive feat. Trespass is very, very good. Nursery Cryme is my fave Genesis album by far, with "The Music Box" being my favorite song by them. Foxtrot has some good moments. "Watcher of the Skies" is jaw-droppingly fantastic.
This is an interesting bit to loop, but it really works. I think I might have to try my hand at this and see what I can come up with.
Yeah rawk..where is that Troy?
Groonie..I love loops from unexpected places..the proggier the better.
Love the album cover.
Genesis? The group Phil Collins was in?
Anywayz, late to the party, but I'll contribute this evening. I tend to find good samples/loops while watching movies. One from Gladiator and another from...I think it was Fists of Fury immediately come to mind.
Yup, that Genesis, back in their funk days:)
I heard a hard rock version of Land of Confusion at the end of a documentary I watched the other day. Strange for Genesis to come up twice in the same week.
They have like 2 distinct phases..with Peter Gabriel and without. The Gabriel years are much weirder..in a good way for me so far.
Gabriel was before Collins? I didn't know he was in Genesis.
Back in the early 70T's they, I'm finding out, were the Kings O' Prog. Pete split first to do the solo thang..
Hey, you by chance know an easy way to rip audio from a dvd?
I barely know how to tie my digital shoes,Troy..Like Sgt. Schultz, I know nothing. Sorry.
Yes! LOVE genesis phil and peter :) we's on first name basis lol enjoyed this one thanks cody
