Could you flow on this Mel Tormé break?

Track:Walk On By Loop
I'm not a good sound editor, or maybe I am and my software is no good..Anyway I made this 15 second loop of a Mel Tormé tune.
As you know, I'm a big fan of break beats and the sonic collages of supa-producers. Are any of you masters of software out there willing to share your loops here? No effects, just loops of old records please.
I made the loop because of this post ,my worst in ages, so perhaps I'll salvage something if you'll share some loops.

I used to loop my dad's cd player and record to cassette, but no digitized versions. Been a while since I tried to actually buld a beat. I hope someone else shares though, this could potentially be a great thread.
I think Acid has a very easy loop maker. Garage Band might as well. I haven't used anything since I used to use Protools many years ago.
I love this kind of stuff. Awhile back I made an intro theme by editing a song down. I should post it on my MOG.
Mel Torme! I Love Mel Torme...I got to see him twice! Really he was always a fun show to see.
15 seconds too short!
This is definitely flow-able. Reminds me of a Lovage track. Kind of seductive.
"I made the loop because of this post ,my worst in ages, so perhaps I'll salvage something if you'll share some loops."
Cody B - Because he cares enough to give his very best!
I dig the loop, reminds me of something De La would use or maybe Pharcyde
I guess I should've said, "worst" received in ages,Dach..I'm always hearing some bit of a song and thinking it would be a good sample..I like it even more when it is someone like Mel Torme..
BBf, it was only a 5 second piece..I'm working on it.
Oat, that may be my problem..potential. Maybe I just should've asked for the entire song they found the break in..I think I'm up for another..
My software is OK contra..my patience is prolly the problem.
Savant, whatever I can do to get Mel some more props, I'll do!
SDream- That's what the Velvet Fog is all about..seduction.
Ooh la la..."Velvet Fog", nice. I just saw that's his nickname.
Yes, Yes I could.
ive been working on a sample of chicago's 'im a man' for a while. but since i dont know how to insert tracks into posts anymore, ill just give ya the video and you can imagine its awesomeness.
I'll give it a shot tonight if I get a chance Cody...
If there's anything I could flow on, it would be this. But you shouldn't hold your breath....
Your written lyrics would be fine Ivy..
Go Uffin,Go Uffin..
Looking forward,DZ..

The above code goes between the < >signs, but change the red numbers to whatever size you want (I used 375).
Sam, if your loop has that cowbell, I can't wait.
I would like to think I could, but I am sure it would sound terrible
I'm having å brain freeze here.... can't find what I was thinking of... oh well I got the whole summer anyhow ;-)
Forgot to add before ..... I don't know whether you're a good editor or not... but you DEFINITELY have the ear. Nice one.
I guess this is a send off then...a guy can't even watch a movie without the world altering course!
from Barbara Aklin- "After You"
And one frm Yuki - "Funky Fruits"
S-C-O-T Free..Those were dope! Babs was my fave..
I picked that just for you man! The best tool I've found for slicing up loops is Propellerheads Recycle. Not the most intuitive on the learning curve, but it's got the power to "sense" the timing/ and beat separation and throws up markers automatically. Read about it here:

I wasn't gonna post anything to this, but Sam's "I'm a Man" sounded really dope. Then they sang the hook, and I was like, "hmm... that chord progression(?) sounds familiar." Well, I remember the melody from the 2006 Sergio Mendes disc Timeless on a song called "Yes, Yes Y'All" which features amazing music, the beautiful voice of Debi Nova, and ridiculous rhymes by Black Thought, will.i.am, and Chali 2na formally of Jurassic 5.
So I open my trusty album liner notes to find that the song samples "Comin' Home Baby" written by Ben Tucker and Bob Dorough and performed famously by none other than the Velvet Fog himself. I just couldn't let it go. Damn, I love MOG!
SIDE NOTE: If you haven't checked out Sergio Mendes, he's released two CD's (Timeless in '06 & Encanto in '08) in the last couple years. Both are far beyond "worth a listen"
I can dig it. Now could you put your beat down flip it and reverse it? :) I used to make horrible tape loops. That sounds pretty cool. Now add some throbbing sub bass, throw in some old synth loops, add a couple of scratches and reverses, grab some obscure '60's Thai beat song vocal samples, add some Momma's and Poppa's harmonizing bits, grab some French Ye-Ye horns, throw in some random squelches, intersperse it with some Amen breaks, and you have got yourself a song. Good job Cody. :)
AHH the player is still not working for me. i get a big button with some text junk at the bottom, but the button wont play.
okay lets try this again...
so i know you said no effects, but im too lazy to change it back to its original form. i basically just chopped it, slowed it down about 16% and added some kicks and snares. i havent touched it for close to 2 years now, so its rough and peaking in places. enjoy!
I'm a man..I can dig that Sam. those backing percussions are making it for me. Nice one.
Omigod..scribes. That Mel video is pretty cool and on the Judy Garland show no less..nice.
