  9. Dzendvokh says Songs made me and my daughter dance, and now that I'm tired she still wants to dance, you know that three year thing, a little voice repeating ad nauseam "let's dance" "Come on".... cute but ....a little tiring sometimes. Anyways, great tracks.

  13. Cody B says dachmo- when I used to work at Amoeba in SF the owners were looking at spots in Brooklyn..If you could get enough space to open a well run, buy everything, Amoeba sized, destination record store in Brooklyn..I think you could make some hay. There are so many people here that have stuff to unload, good stuff, I think it would fly...It is all about turning the used stuff in bulk. You'd have to have in stores and service the high brow (must have a great classical section) and low brow (99 cent bins), and be on top of the local scene and finally it must be a fun place to go (there would have to be CD's)...maybe even have a ferry or bus from Manhattan. It would need to be big, so it seems like only the BK would be affordable..It would be awesome. On a small scale it is tough, and you really can only be a specialty place I think, serving a genre or a customer group really well. @ivy- Like soul sez, you have been extra sassy lately..I for one, say Bravo. @micki- I've seen Ivy in person, he's even cuter live! @lyrikhan- Something definitely must have happened to her between the first pic and the second...she found her inner diva. @Dz- This Friday we had our dance party around these parts. This is when we turn out the lights, I introduce my son, and he danceairguitarlipsynchs through a variety of his hits to the psychedelic flashlight waving of mom and dad. It is intensly cute the first 4 or 5 songs, then deteriorates when I do my number. I did Little Red Rooster this week. @'ling and 'chine- Man you guys always come round for the good stuff....Thanks for passing by.

  17. TroyPowers says I wonder if that album title would be getting all the controversy that "Nigger" is getting if it were released today.

  18. extraordinarypoems says Very nice. I'd like to hear more of her songs.

  19. Cody B says Troy, I'm sure Rev.Sharpton could find something wrong with it. I thought it was OK to say bitch in '74, wasn't it? ExPoems..counting Lester's contribution, I'm all out of Marlena..Judging by how much I like the 3 songs here, some digging should be in order. going to AMG, critical praise falls toward the Blue Note years.."Bitch" may be a good place to start. The 3 tunes I have are all comps, The Columbia years seem like they are disco-y and the latter stuff is straight jazz.
