Grandaddy
This may be a more obscure band for some of you who read this blog, but I don’t really consider them obscure. 
I used to work at a graphic design firm and they always played music really loudly over the speakers. In the summer of 2003 the album Sumday, by Grandaddy was on continuous play. I am not a long time Grandaddy fan, it wasn’t until that summer that I really even knew who they were. Since then I have come to really enjoy and appreciate Grandaddy’s music. I have to apologize because I am far from an expert on Grandaddy, just a huge fan of their music. When I was searching some background information on the band to include in this blog I found that they are listed under the genre “indietronica.” I have not idea what that means, but for some reason it’s fitting for a band like Grandaddy. They aren’t much different than other indie rock bands out their, but they do add an electronic part to their songs which makes them unique. 
The lead singer of the group announced that they are breaking up, that’s the reason I decided to write about them today. The lead singer is currently on tour, and this may be your last chance ever to see Grandaddy songs performed live. He’s doing an acoustic tour with all the Grandaddy songs, which is not as good as seeing the entire band, but its better than nothing. So my suggestion is to go and buy the album Sumday (you won’t be disappointed) and head out to see them. In the meantime I will post all the music videos I can find below.
