Thus spoke my Dad.He was only looking after me.I'd been into music for a couple of years, was learning the guitar and wanted to see what rock n' roll was really like.Me and my mates had seen Sparks on TOTP,found out they were on in Manchester and when I asked my Dad for £1.50 for the ticket (it was 1974),he started going on that he'd seen Duke Ellington at the same venue in the 50's for 2/6d (12.5p) and that £1.50 was a ridiculous price to pay to see a load of pillocks prancing about on stage.I got the money, went to the gig and it was amazing. The UK tour coincided with the release of "Kimono My House" and the single "This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us" and was my initiation to the world of live music.I was so impressed by the band,I saw them again on their next tour
