WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

New Morning

Posted over 2 years ago
In 2002 I had a copy of this little-known album by Bob Dylan called New Morning in mp3 format on my computer which I listened to a bit. My general impression was that it was Dylan being an old man comfortable with his little family. When that hard drive crashed, I didn't worry about re-downloading that album. Over the past few years, however, I have started seeing New Morning more and more at indie hipster record shops and I've seen it suddenly included in lists of best Dylan albums. Have the hipsters rediscovered this quaint homey album? Was I too young to appreciate it five years ago?Well, I gave in and bought it this weekend. I haven't had a chance to listen to it much, so I don't have an opinion yet - but soon. However I will say this: I bought the old "nice price" version and it is mastered really quietly. I hope they fixed that in the remastered version. This is the 21st century man, everything MUST BE AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!!!!

  1. Sturgell says I hate it when that hapen with certain music I have, cranking it as loud as it can go just so another song that's mastered at high levels come on and I have to dash over and turn it down. There must be some easy way around that.....
