So a couple of month's ago I found out that "Control" was gonna be released here in the states at selected theatres, and I nearly lost control when hearing about it.
Control if you don't already know is a docu-drama about the life of Ian Curtis and Joy Division. I then didn't here anything more about it until I came across a flyer for the Mods and Rockers Festival held here in LA. Control was the Saturday night movie to be shown. I then made sure that my girlfriend was ready to go with me because she typically doesn't care for these type of movies. But she agreed! I even asked my buddy Dom if he was up to go. I knew that he'd say yes. Dom is probably the only Vietnamese dude that I know that loves Joy Division just as much as I do. Not that being Vietnamese makes a difference. Dom is a walking music and movie encyclopedia by the way. So anyway, I completely forgot about the festival! Dom was nearly ready to hang me for it! No pun intended.
A few weeks pass by, and now it's playing at the Pasadena Laemmle Playhouse 7! Sweet! I've read mixed reviews about the film, but my co-worker/ best friend, Alex, saw it last night and confirmed that it's a must see. He's sure that I will love it. So... I'm there! Hopefully I'll get to see it this weekend after all the hustle and bustle of the week. Maybe I'll write my own review on it. I suck at writing, so maybe not but I'll try and share.
