The sublime joys of "Guitar Hero II"

Posted over 5 years ago
I have a new addicting passion as of late: Guitar Hero II for Playstation 2. I admit that I'm a little "late in the game" (no pun intended), but I'm completely hooked on this game, as is my wife.Though I'm a drummer by trade, I've always admitted a bit of envy at not being able to indulge in a bit of guitar and whammy bar wankery. This game fulfills those prepubescent dreams of mine. There's nothing better than pounding out a little of Kiss's "Strutter" or some "Sweet Child of Mine". Although I admit that unlike my wife, I can't nail the rhythm to "Message in a Bottle" to save my life. So while I'll never have the patience to learn any real guitar, it's fun to semi-vicariously live out my little fantasies with this game. I may even learn to throw out some scissor kicks some time.

  2. Thinkcage says I just picked up the original Guitar Hero and I have to say it is one of the best games ever. So much fun, and so much of a challenge as you progress and the difficultly ramps up. And the songs? So amazing! I love how it really makes you feel like you're playing. Definitely my current addiction.
