Listening = Passive Sound Healing

Posted over 5 years ago
So, we've all been in the dumps and been soothed or cheered or made to feel righteous and hopeful by a piece of music. And there are some basic and fundamental effects that different rhythms and melodies have on our physical, astral and etheric bodies.For example, rap and hip hop are great for gathering gumption, so to speak. Promotes courage and self confidence. Reggae has been scientifically shown to slow and regulate the heartbeat and the breath, much like the effects of standing in front of the ocean. Relieves stress, physical pain and heartache.Symphonies help to signal all systems of the body to work together; helps with, digestion, posture, recovery from illness.Jazz relieves tension and benefits the skeletal system. Also, music in the key of B or Bb encourages forward movement, as in the master key of C, B is the seventh interval. Seventh chords leave us waiting for and wanting to move toward a musical resolution, and this inspiration usually radiates outward into our minds and bodies.So as i sit here at 4 in the morning, stressing about lack of sleep, lack of money, lack of free time.... i listen to Midnite, all night.

  2. jimmybearpearson says Christi, I completely agree with the idea that music can have a physiological effect. I think it even releases enorphins at times (makes you feel euphoric). Sorry you're up late with a load on your shoulders... wish I had something to say that would really help... Peace be with you.
