Super Happy Fun Songs

I have been feeling really good lately, so I thought I'd share the current soundtrack to my good vibrations...El Perro Del Mar's "God Knows" has been stuck in my head for a week now, thankfully. It's as if Betty Boop fronted the Beach Boys, and they decided to sing me a personal lullaby...I recently got the Teddy Bears album. I guess the Cadillac commercials just weren't enough and that video for "Cobrastyle" was just too damn funny, that I had to invest. That scene where the teddy bear calls home to his wife while on tour may be the funniest clip of video I have seen since that joyous fat kid danced in front of his computer for the YouTube audience's viewing pleaseure. I guess my only gripe about this album is that none of the songs make me as happy as I feel when I listen to "Punkrocker." Must be Iggy Pop. Man, forget the Stooges reunion, tour with the Teddy Bears!!Deerhoof's "+81" I just simply can't explain...and I am cool with that...Ok, since everyone has been talking about the new Bloc Party album, especially "Kruezberg," I thought I'd join the debate. While " A Weekend in the City" will never be as good as "Silent Alarm" in my opinion, it's still a pretty damn good album. "Kruezberg" has recently become my 'emotional, power ballad, pretty guitar, searching for love, super happy fun song.' The softly poetic chorus is rousingly beautiful and the build into the finale just makes me giddy. Lookin' forward to seeing them live in NYC...Well, that's what's making me feel good this week.
