I know this may make it seem like I'm a one trick pony or that I am obsessive...but I have to talk about Dr. Dog.....AGAIN
I purchased Fate at midnight on itunes and i have been listening to it ever since.
It is just so AMAZING!!!! I told my bestest last night that if it came down to it and i had to choose between eating cake for the rest of my life or getting to listen to Fate....I would choose Fate. I would give up cake forever for this album. Listening to this album envokes the feeling of driving on a lonely Texas highway at on a summer night with the windows down. It is every thing I love about Dr. Dog and nothing less
I saw Tilly and the Wall on thursday night at Emo's here in austin. I have only seen them once before and it was right after their last album came out and I remember saying to myself "jezzze louise! i need to get this tout suite!" Well, thursday I went through the same exact thing. Tilly is amazing, they put on a great show. Eventhough I am unfamiliar with their new things, I love them and I danced my heart out. The two openers were great as well. I have loved Belaire for a few years plus one or two of them went to the school I am enrolled in...and Ringo Deathstar was great to hear as well.
Im listening to the Dr. Dog right now....IT KILLS.

ooh oooh are you listening to the new dr. dog?? i keep forgetting to get that, despite all that talking about it in the comments off your last post :) !
ringo deathstar is quite the band name haha.
Yes I am listening to the new Dr. Dog, they have the whole thing streaming on their myspace page right now and the album actually comes out tomorrow!
sweet!! i love it when bands are down with previewing albums (even if i'm only learning this a DAY before it comes out, haha). thanks, chelsey!
The last few nights I have been unable to get to sleep before 5 am. It all began friday night while in houston, I went out to a karaoke bar and the house of pies with one of my bestest (Jacob Martin McCarther) and I did not get back to my mom's house until about 4am. Saturday is less fun and more ridiculous...i stayed up till 5 watching a marathon of Rob & Big...
Now, last night i was just pissed because i just laid in bed awake for hours unable to sleep, which just pissed me off. Now the same is happening tonight I'm afraid, so im going to write about my love for Dr. Dog.
D to the D was introduced to me by the aforementioned JMM while we lived in San Antonio almost 3 years ago but I never really gave them a shot until this year. I am now obsessed beyond belief.
I am sad that the first time i got to see them live was at this weird Neil Young party at the Levis/Fader fort during SXSW and they had this crazy blue punch (soco and some blue stuff i can't spell) and Jenn (roommate/bestest) and myself were getting quite silly...so we didnt enjoy their set nearly as much as we could have...plus they only played Neil Young covers so it wasnt a real show anyways.
The song 'we all belong' just blows my mind every time I hear it. It just gives me goosebumps and fills me with such joy. In the last month or so of this past semester when that song would come on my ipod during the in-between class rush, I just wanted to hug every one of my fellow students... because at a school like UT in a town like Austin, we all DO belong!
This is probably one of the silliest and most honest things I have ever written here.
all of you go have an incredible week, ok?

Haha, Dr. Dog are great. I'd like to see them live. They just sound really authentic to me. Get some sleep!
Yes, I discovered Dr. Dog a year or so ago, and since them I've heard more. I really like what they did with Architecture In Helsinki as well (The heart It Races...if you haven't heard this track hurry out and find it!). Trouble is, now after listening to all they have out of at least months, I want more! Something new! Any word when they plan to put out a now album??
Klyde, their cover of that song is also the one that really won me over too. It's amazing, everyone should def hear it. And so different from the original. Well, check out the side bar on the right and click the link called Stream New Dr. Dog Track "The Old Days"...what timing! It just came out! :)

"Fate" is great... Must listen to it in its entirety to appreciate the cool sounds and the flow. Dr. Dog is the best and those who do not know them MUST see them live, listen to their old stuff, then "Fate", then make judgements. The reviewers pigeon-hole them into past music and comparisons. I think people should listen to them with a blamk slate and just enjoy their writing, harmonies, and sounds... Live is the best. They put on the greatest shows. They love their audience and work very hard to please and make them have a great time!!
