America loves R.Kelly. Forget those past child rape allegations against the R&B singer, R. Kelly is now only making headlines with his Number One debut this week. Kelly's Double Up sold 386,000 copies this week to earn the top spot on the charts, making for his sixth Number One out of a possible ten. R.Kelly's domination slid Maroon 5's It Won't Be Soon Before Long to the Number Two position, with only 172,000 copies sold in the album's second week out.
Despite being produced by one of the best producers in the game (Rick Rubin), Linkin Park's Minutes To Midnight cannot sit tight on the Billboard Top 200. Since hitting store shelves three weeks ago it had consecutively dropped each week. Could this mean no diamond certification for the rap rockers?
Next up at Number Four is country singer Jason Aldean's second album Relentless. It sold 98,000 copies album in its debut week and hit Number One on the Top Country Album chart.
American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry's album Daughtry won't give-up. It has crept its way up to Number Five this week from the Number Six position. The album has been out for TK weeks now. Thanks to her recent Rolling Stone cover mug and an $8 price tage, Amy Winehouse has made her way back to the Top Ten. Her Back To Basics crept to Number Six from the Number Elevan position.
U.S.D.A. - Young Jeezy, Slick Pulla and Blood Raw - are Number Seven this week with Cold Summer, while Avril Lavigne Best Damn Thing lands at Number Eight.
Michael Buble's Call Me Irresponsible dropped to Number Nine. The biggest fall this week was Ozzy Osbourne's Black Rain. The album nose-dived from Number Three to Number Ten. I didn't buy the album after picking it up at the record store and realizing the single disc album was going to put a $17 dent in my wallet. I'd reather buy Amy winehouse's for half that.
Next week its old school versus new school, when Def Jam artist Rihanna's new album Good Girl Gone Bad will duke it out with Paul McCartney's Memory Almost Full, which is being sold at Starbucks.
