Bo Diddley is out of the hospital. The Blues legend was released Thursday morning from Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE, where he has been recovering from a stroke on May 13.
Diddley was flown by private jet to his homestate of Florida on Thursday. Upon his arrival at the Gainesville Regional Airport the legendary singer/songwriter/guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was greeted by friends and family in a private hanger arranged for his arrival. From there Diddley was taken to Shands Rehab Hospital where he began speech and occupational therapy on Friday. After a stroke many loose control of motor skills and the rehab process involves re-learning functions as transferring, walking and other gross motor functions. It is uncertain as of now if Diddley will return to the stage in the future.
Diddley is expected to remain at the Gainesville facility for two weeks and will continue therapy on as an outpatient upon his release.
