Last week people were pissed after following a ticking countdown on the Bloc Party Web site, with only to reveal a new single being played on Zane Lowe's BBC One Radio show. Perhaps they were expecting a free show or an autographed Kele guitar? Whatever expections weren't met, probably still aren't but Bloc Party went ahead and released an official video, directed by Ace Norton, for the track, titled "Mercury." Not their best work, but who doesn't love to monkey around?
It falls a little short of awesome, doesn't it?

SERIOUSLY, between this and Flux, can someone tell me what the HELL happened to Bloc Party?

You Bloc Party fans have obviously set the bar high..I heard the track on Steve Lamaque this afternoon, and thought it sounded pretty good.but i prefer it without the visuals.. the standard "Chimp in the White House" gets ousted by some sort of constructed Minator dude is blindingly mainstream.. "the Mighty Boosh" meets "Planet of The Apes " in the DeadZone"...
the thing is ,does he get in as an Independent,or is he a last minute Republican replacement?..surely not a comment about Obama?!!
