Now here's something I'd pay money to see. After 33 years apart The Faces are in talks for a reunion. Rod Stewart and Ron Wood reportedly met in London recently to discuss the possibility and now keyboardist Ian McLagan has revealed more good news to BBC 6 Music.
"I’ve wanted to for years and so has Woody and Kenny." McLagan said about the possibilty of reuniting. "Rod is now interested it seems and I’m real pleased about that, and he’s serious about it. I mean we’re trying to get it together, it’s just a question of schedules."
"We’re hoping to get together later this year, just to get together, to play and then we may have some news - but I want it to happen, badly."
Rod Stewart was the one Faces member that was hardest to sway. Guitarist Ron Wood, who plays with the Rolling Stones has no obligations with the band at the moment and drummer Kenny Jones was all for it.
"Rod hasn’t wanted to do it for a long time," McLagan explained. "He didn’t see the need in it, but I think he really wants to now, I think he wants to rock out. I think it’d be great, great for everybody."
The Faces formed in 1969. Following the departure of their guitarist Steve Marriott, members of the British blues-driven Small Faces formed Humble Pie. Eventually adding Wood and Stewart to the mix the group became known as Faces or The Faces. The last studio album The Faces put out was 1973's Ooh La La. A live album, Coast To Coast: Overture And Beginners, followed in 1974. McLagan was even adamant about recording new material with the Faces.
"I have a couple of songs that Rod might like. We’d have to see, I think that would be the way to go though, not just to go out on tour. It’d be great to have an album. Even if it was a few tracks we could tag onto older tracks or tracks that haven’t been heard before, because there’s some stuff in the vaults."
McLagan ended saying, "I’ve got my fingers crossed, my eyes and my legs crossed." Yeah, me too.
Anyone else think it'd be a good reunion tour? Or has it been way too long apart for these guys?

Uh oh. Better lock up the liquor cabinets. These guys could make a town go dry!
My Trusted MOGs
I'm up for the challenge.
My Trusted MOGs
Ronnie Lane has been dead for 10 years so wouldn't count on him showing up.
My Trusted MOGs
I would def pay to see them though, without a doubt.
My Trusted MOGs
Rod, before he sold his rockin' soul for disco fame. Ever since Do Ya Think I'm Sexy I think there's no way to reclaim it.

GrittyMcScruff -- You make me blush. Thanks for pointing that one out...it's been fixed.
My Trusted MOGs
Charley Rogulewski, haha no problem. Thanks for sharing the news. That's one band I never thought I'd have a chance to see, hopefully it will happen.
My Trusted MOGs
Do they still have the fire?
I saw them about half a dozen times and they were something very special, as these videos show. If Rod actually card, and put his heart in it, then maybe.
My Trusted MOGs
After all of their face lifts I would call them The New Faces
My Trusted MOGs
my mom says thanks. she can't wait
My Trusted MOGs
Listen, if they would just make their setlist "A Nod is as Good as a Wink...." I would be a happy camper : ) . That album STILL rules!!
My Trusted MOGs
Ronnie Lane is still dead so how good could this be?? Woodie is hitting the sauce hard again (reportedly) and it's not like its 1973 for him, is it? Rod has sounded really bad lately (those shmocky albums haven't helped his credibility either!). I don't think it would go over very well. I don't think that they would sound any good as well. Sorry!
